Texture

Here is another one that pretty much painted itself.  And it was fun!  Usually with oil painting I feel like I have to think very hard all the time, but this was very intuitive.

Continuing the theme of painting with minimal color, I thought I’d do some winter scenes.  I took a bunch of photos when we were home for Christmas in Wisconsin, mostly on the highway between Madison and Milwaukee.  What appealed to me about this one was the woven texture created by the trees and field and fence— almost like a piece of fabric :)
