Around this time of year I start thinking about colors.
Fortunately for my stash, spring fabrics don’t appeal to me too much. Anyway, this madness usually only lasts a few weeks. As soon as the flowers come out I go back to my gray and brown-loving ways.
Or maybe I never really escape them. Anyway, oil on paper seemed the perfect technique to catch these fleeting ideas. This is my take on spring.

You do abstract very well – a wonderful sense of balance. Do you prefer to paint realism? My textile pieces were always abstract or surreal. I was the most comfortable there.

These studies are really beautiful! You have a real eye for colours and proportions… so maybe you could add a bright scarf or shoes to your favourite grey or brown outfit to get this same effect?
